PLDM-Polycrystalline Diamond Powder
What is PLDM?
PLDM (Polycrystalline Diamond Powder) is synthesized using an explosive method, forming micro-fractured, randomly oriented nanocrystals. Such a structure provides high toughness and produces a unique self-sharpening effect during use.
During polishing, the particles undergo continuous micro-chipping, constantly generating new cutting edges to maintain long-lasting and stable efficiency. Its multi-point contact mode greatly improves cutting performance while effectively preventing deep scratches that may be caused by single-crystal particles.
Specially designed for high-standard fine grinding and polishing of hard and brittle materials, it delivers 2–4 times the cutting efficiency of conventional diamond and achieves a perfectly scratch-free surface finish—an ideal choice for applications requiring extreme precision and smoothness.
Advantages of PLDM
- Fine Particle Size Range: Optimised for high-precision surface finishing.
- Rough Particle Surface: Increases contact area and enhances grinding action.
- Self-Sharpening Capability: Delivers consistent performance through micro-fracturing.
- High Toughness: Withstands greater working pressure than monocrystalline diamond.
- High Purity: Minimises contamination during sensitive polishing applications.
